A Phoenix Point of Pride and listed on the National Historic Register, Tovrea Castle at Carraro Heights is a unique structure tied in to the history of Arizona. From its origins as a Homestead, to its development as a Boutique Hotel, that never was, to a long-time residence of one of Arizona's Pioneer Families, this one-of-a-kind castle in the desert is a must-see location.
Tours are approximately 2 hours and include the historic Castle’s main floor and basement, extensive grounds and cactus gardens surrounding the Castle.
Guests are greeted by Tovrea Carraro Society volunteers at the Visitor Center and taken through the Carraro Cactus Gardens on a tram with a docent. The tour winds through the beautiful 44 acres, viewing the outer buildings, before arriving at Tovrea Castle.
