Flo's on 7th is gearing up for it sixth annual Heels for Healing charity shopping event, and as the name implies, it's all about the shoes. And handbags.
"Never underestimate what a woman can do with a great pair of shoes and a little bit of lip gloss," 3TV's Heidi Goitia said when she stopped by the shop Tuesday morning to get the lowdown on this weekend's event.
Heels for Healing is a special one-day shopping event featuring a large selection of designer, vintage, casual and dressy shoes and handbags at discount prices. Proceeds benefit the programs and services of Florence Crittenton, which offers an unprecedented array of services for girls 10-21.
"We've been around for 118 years," Dr. Kellie Warren, CEO of Florence Crittenton, told Goitia. "We're all about providing safety, hope and opportunity to every girl whose life we touch."
Heels for Healing at Flo's on 7th is Saturday, Sept. 27, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., but the fun starts at 8 a.m. with the second annual Diva Dash, a series of high-heel relay games.
Gather a team of friends, family or coworkers to participate in the games for a small $25 relay registration fee that will also benefit the girls and young women served by Florence Crittenton.
All Diva Dash participants will receive a tote granting them 10 percent off all purchases at Flo's on 7th for an entire year beginning Sept, 28.
